Sajama
Stand at the top of Bolivia
Overview
Sajama is the highest peak in Bolivia with (6,542 m.a.s.l.), it is a volcanic cone located in the Sajama National Park and was the first protected area of the country. It is an amazing and unique mountain around it has a rich habitat of flora and fauna, is part of the Cordillera Occidental its ascent from the technical point of view is not very complicated, but it is an extensive route at high altitude.

D E T A I L S
DAY 1.
LA PAZ – SAJAMA
You will have a nice trip of approximately 5 hours starting from La Paz to the town of Sajama, passing through the incredible altiplano, you will see the valleys of rocks with large formations made by erosion, as well as ancient tombs. We stay overnight in the village of Sajama.
Day 2.
SAJAMA VILLAGE – ALTO SAJAMA CAMP.
After breakfast we leave with the vehicle to the altitude of the base camp and hike to the high camp (5,700 m. a.s.l.). This hike takes about 3 to 4 hours.
Day 3.
HIGH CAMP – SUMMIT OF SAJAMA – HIGH CAMP – VILLAGE OF SAJAMA
After a good breakfast we start the ascent, it lasts approximately 7 hours to reach the summit of Sajama. The return is by the same route to Camp Alto and then continue with the vehicle to the town of Sajama.
Day 4.
SAJAMA VILLAGE – RETURN TO LA PAZ.
This last day of your adventure you will have the opportunity to enjoy the magnificent thermal baths before returning to La Paz.
