Mountain in the middle of the Cordillera Real

Overview

The Chearoco Mountain, with an altitude of 6,127 meters, is located north of Chachacomani. Its current access route runs through the Kellhuani Valley. From its summit, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire Cordillera and Lake Titicaca.

D E T A I L S

Day 1.
La Paz – Jancko Khota

We depart from La Paz, passing through Peñas, and continue to the village of Khellhuani. From this point, we begin a 3-hour hike to the stunning Jancko Khota Lagoon, where we will establish our base camp at an altitude of 4,760 meters.

Day 2.
Jancko Khota – High Camp

After breakfast, we prepare to ascend to the High Camp, located at 5,100 meters above sea level. During this day, we will traverse the moraine, enjoying panoramic views of the majestic Chearoco.

Day 3.
High Camp – Summit – High Camp

We begin the ascent to the summit early, crossing the glacier and climbing for approximately 6 hours. Upon reaching the summit of Chearoco (6,127 m), we will witness an awe-inspiring view of the entire Cordillera and Lake Titicaca. After this achievement, we return along the same route to our High Camp.

Day 4.
High Camp – Jancko Khota – La Paz

We begin our return journey, following the path back through Jancko Khota Lagoon and the Kellhuani Valley. There, our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to the city of La Paz.
