The main peak of Tuni - Condoriri

Overview

For experienced and well acclimatized climbers.
It is located within the Tuni Condoriri National Park and is the highest and most demanding of the area with its (5,700 m.a.s.l.), for its majesty that resembles from afar; the shape of a giant condor pretending to take flight hence its name Condoriri and / or Condor’s Head.

D E T A I L S

Day 1.
LA PAZ – RINCONADA DEL CONDORIRI – CHIAR KHOTA LAGOON.
Early departure from La Paz to Rinconada del Condoriri where the vehicle leaves us. Then we continue with a small trekking, the mules help us to transport all our technical equipment to the Chiar Khota Lagoon (4.630 m), where we will install our base camp.

Day 2.
CHIAR KHOTA LAGOON – CONDOR’S HEAD SUMMIT – RETURN TO CHIAR KHOTA LAGOON.
This is the big day! Early departure, as it is a long day to reach the summit of the Cabeza del Condor. The terrain starts on very loose rocks until you reach the ice. The ascent starts relatively smooth until we enter an ice canyon where the climbing becomes more technical. Once we reach the summit, we return by the same route to our base camp.

Day 3.
CHIAR KHOTA LAGOON – RINCONADA DE CONDORIRI – RETURN TO LA PAZ.
After breakfast we prepare our luggage and start the descent to Rinconada del Condoriri where our vehicle will be waiting to take us back to La Paz.
